Call for applications: Artist residency in Hungary, Morocco
Musicians around the world are invited to apply for the 2019 CREMM artist residency programme at Babel Sound Festival in Balatonboglár, Hungary, and Desert Vert Festival near Marrakech, Morocco, from 13 to 29 July and 2 to 5 October respectively.
Applications from musicians of all age groups and musical genres are welcome.
The programme is intended for musicians who want to play with artists from different cultures.
Interested artists can register online. The registration deadline in 20 May and a list of successful applicants will be published on the CREMM website on 1 June.
“We are going to choose 18 musicians and ask them to form three bands,” a statement reads. “These bands will have five days to produce a programme of 45 to 60 minutes, which is going to be performed on stage at Babel Sound Festival and Desert Vert Festival.
"During the residency week, you will have the opportunity to meet and create with more than 100 musicians from different professional backgrounds.
“Well-known artists, like Manou Gallo, Shlomo Bar, Yasser Haj Youssef, Manuel Hermia, Omri Mor and others from the field of world music, jazz, blues and traditional music have participated at this event.”
