Call for applications: Workshop for music video directors in Ghana
The organisers of the annual 3Music Awards in Ghana are accepting applications for their music development programme for music video directors.
The five-day event, which will take place at the 3Media Networks headquarters in Accra from 28 February, forms part of the award platform’s social impact campaign titled 3Music for Good. It will offer expansive creative and entrepreneurship opportunities for participants.
The programme, held in partnership with TV service provider HD+, will aim to equip 10 promising Ghanaian video directors and producers with the skills to develop their craft while collaborating with other professionals on a music video project.
Participants will work with mentors in a highly practical and engaging environment to craft music videos, working with close guidance from facilitators to plan, shoot and edit a music video for a top musician at the end of the workshop.
HD+ marketing manager Adelaide Ahovy Abbiw-Williams said: “Delivering world-class TV viewing experiences is the hallmark of the HD+ brand and through the 3Music industry development programme, we look forward to sharing the technical expertise required to inspire innovation in budding video directors and producers so they can churn out the requisite quality of videos essential for Ghanaian artists to compete on the global stage.”
Apart from earning certificates, participants will get the chance to produce a music video that will be premiered on the night of the fifth annual 3Music Awards.
Interested participants may send an email to shout@3music.tv. The email should include the applicant’s short profile and professional projects.
The application deadline is 24 February.
