Call for entries: Felabration 2022 art and dance competitions
Submissions are ongoing for the 2022 edition of the Felabration art and dance competitions ahead of the annual music festival later this year.
Felabration was founded in 1998 by singer and dancer Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti in memory of Afrobeat founder Fela Kuti. The festival is traditionally held at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos, Nigeria, and this year’s event is running under the theme, Fear Not 4 Man.
Since its inception, Felabration has hosted international music stars such as Hugh Masekela (South Africa), Seun Kuti (Nigeria), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Awilo Logomba (DRC), King Sunny Ade (Nigeria), Aṣa (Nigeria), 2Baba (Nigeria) and Sauti Sol (Kenya), among others.
The art and dance competitions will reward the winners with cash prizes.

The Felabration 2022 Afrobics Dance Competition lets contestants showcase Afrobeat dance routines with any song of their choice from Fela Kuti’s discography while promoting Fela’s music and legacy and the Afrobics style of dance pioneered by Yeni Kuti.
