Nigeria: The Plug Publishing signs Vynchie
Nigeria-based The Plug Publishing has announced the addition of producer, songwriter and sound engineer Vynchie to its roster.
Established in 2023 as an offshoot of talent management and music services outfit The Plug Entertainment, the company specialises in distribution, licensing, and publishing, along with events curation, and operates with the goal of “bringing music to life and helping artists achieve their creative vision.”
According to The Plug Publishing, who expressed excitement about the deal in a statement, Vynchie’s work “cuts across the multi-genre, fusion-heavy stylism that is the Afrobeats culture,” and the deal ensures that he has “solidified his position as a producer to watch out for.”
The announcement means that Vynchie, who has worked with a host of West African popstars including Nigeria’s Zlatan Ibile and Blaqbonez, as well as Ghana’s Black Sherif, will benefit from a range of services and industry expertise, collaborating with The Plug’s A&R personnel and publishing administrators to register and administer his musical compositions and copyrights while guaranteeing proper compensation for his efforts.
Following its launch last year, The Plug Publishing noted that apart from leveraging its expertise and industry connections to represent and empower artists, it will also “actively seek out sync licensing opportunities for our artists, helping them gain exposure and reach new audiences through music placements in media like film, gaming and the TV industry.”
Boasting a decade of experience under his belt, Vynchie doubles as vice-president of CEEK Mob record label, home to emerging acts like Tesh Carter and Mamza.
“We wish him the best of luck as he charges us through this new phase of our enterprise,” CEEK Mob said.
