Open call: National Arts Council of Zambia 2024 grants
The National Arts Council of Zambia is inviting funding applications from individuals and non-profit organisations who are members of a National Arts Council-affiliated organisation.
The grant, which is supported by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, seeks to support artists and art organisations in producing and presenting signature artistic works, high-impact titles and platforms that can have significant effect and legacy for the Zambian arts scene, in terms of:
- Artistic development and achievement.
- Digital arts development.
- Reach to both local and international markets.
The council recognises that productions or platforms that aim to set new heights of artistic excellence for the Zambian arts scene are likely to have a greater impact on the Zambian arts sector.
What does the grant support?
The grant supports the production costs of the following types of projects in all art forms such as music, fine arts, handicrafts, theatre, dance, fashion, digital arts and film. The funding cap is 50 000 ($1 900) Zambian kwachas.
Application process
Applicants will need to submit:
- Portfolio/profile of artists/organisation.
- Proposal.
- Minimum of two samples of past works.
- Proof of membership of affiliate arts association.
- Budget.
All the work should be themed on Zambia’s 60 years of independence celebrations.
