SA: Amanda Black features Kwesta on new single Kutheni Na
South African singer Amanda Black last week released a new single titled ‘Kutheni Na’.
The song features local rapper Kwesta and is off her upcoming album Mnyama. The song is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
‘Kutheni Na’ was produced by Christer Kobedi and Vaughan Fourie. It seeks to interrogate listeners’ collective faith during uncertainty times.
“It’s been a tough time for everyone around the world, we have seen a lot of suffering and yet we are still hopeful,” Amanda Black said. “We want better days, we have questions and our people do not have answers. We seek healing from the incredulous losses we have experienced during this time and I hope people can find it through my story in Mnyama.”
Mnyama will be Amanda Black’s third album after Amazulu and Power. Known for her hit singles ‘Thandwa Ndim’, ‘Ndizele Wena’ and ‘Vuka’, she has worked with artists like Anthony Hamilton (US), Adekunle Gold (Nigeria), the Soweto Gospel Choir (South Africa), Ami Faku (South Africa) and Kush Mahleka (South Africa). Her music is themed around telling authentic African stories and is weaved with creative storytelling and poetry.
