Tresor to support British star Seal on South African tour

Born Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki in Goma, Tresor (French for 'treasure' and pronounced 'Trezor') began his musical journey at the age of 17 when he left the DRC after losing his parents. Since his arrival in South Africa seven years ago, he has released his debut album VII, signed to Vth Season (home to rapper AKA), is licensed to Sony Music Africa and signed globally with Ultra Music.

With two singles, ‘Mount Everest’ and ‘Never Let Me Go’ enjoying radio success globally, Tresor has been moulding a proudly African pop sound for the world to enjoy.

Seal, meanwhile, has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and released a total of nine studio albums so far. His inimitable voice was first heard on Adamski’s 1991 club smash ‘Killer’ and his breakthrough solo hit ‘Crazy’, which quickly achieved global acclaim as well as the British Academy’s prestigious Ivor Novello Award for songwriting. Since then Seal has had numerous global hits, including ‘Kiss from a Rose’, from the soundtrack to the 1995 film Batman Forever, and won many music awards including three Brit Awards, four Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.

In 2012, Seal was one of the four vocal coaches in the first season of the Australian version of the reality singing competition The Voice and coached the eventual series winner Karise Eden. Seal returned to The Voice in season two where he became the winning coach once again with winner Harrison Craig.

His latest album, simply titled 7, was released in late 2015. According to the artist, “it concerns the most sung about, most talked about and most documented emotion – love”. The album sees Seal reunite with long-time collaborator and producer Trevor Horn, who was also behind his platinum-selling debut release Seal (1991), the quadruple-platinum Seal II (1994), the gold-selling Human Being (1998) and Seal IV (2003).

His upcoming South African tour, organised by Big Concerts, will see Seal performing for three nights only. It kicks off on Sunday 12 June at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg before moving to the Durban ICC Arena on Tuesday 14 June and ending in Cape Town at the Grand Arena at GrandWest on Thursday 16 June.
