Ghana: Kofi Kinaata to promote beverage brand
Ghanaian rapper Kofi Kinaata was on Thursday unveiled as a brand ambassador for local beverage brand Good Day Energy Drink.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Ghana’s capital Accra and the deal is expected to leverage the award-winning musician’s influence to advance the product’s visibility and value among consumers.
“I have the followers and people [who consume energy drinks],” Kofi Kinaata said. “If you want to take any energy drink, you need to take God Day Energy Drink. The name says it all. I am going to use my image to help promote this good brand.”
Good Day also expressed excitement to have “one of Ghana’s most progressive music icons to partner with us.”
The deal comes on the heels of another ambassadorial deal for the ‘Confession’ hitmaker – with insurance company Enterprise Life alongside gospel artist Diana Hamilton last month.
“As a brand, your wish is to always seek reliable sources for your followers,” Kofi Kinaata said about what drew him to the insurance company. “Enterprise Life’s hallmark of excellence is consistent with our value as a brand.”
Kofi Kinaata is up for four awards at the 22nd annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards this weekend in Accra. They include Best Highlife Artist, Best Highlife Song, International Collaboration of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, which the artist is particularly keen on winning for the fourth time.
“As for the Songwriter of the Year, hands down,” he said. “I am not bragging but looking at the song involved [‘Behind the Scenes’], that is already inside the basket. It is what it is. Whatever will happen will happen, but Songwriter of the Year is hands down.”
Meanwhile, Adina, KiDi, Diana Hamilton, Kuami Eugene, Medikal and Sarkodie are up for the coveted Artist of the Year Award.
