Call for applications: Zomba City Festival in Malawi

Now in its third edition, the festival is a celebration of the culture, heritage and natural beauty of Malawi's former capital.

Zomba City Festival aims to give everybody a fair fee, which includes withholding tax, money for transport, food and accommodation. The call is only open for artists who stay in Zomba. Applicants who fit the festival’s vision and budget will be accommodated.

Festivalgoers can buy a ticket for 16 000 Malawian kwacha (about $16) early bird or 25 000 kwacha at the door to get access for the whole weekend at all venues that are part of Zomba City Festival 2023.

How it works

• Festivalgoers can buy a ticket, book a hotel or wait for the festival’s camping packages (coming soon).
• The festival will begin on Friday afternoon. After the opening, there will be music, food and drinks at Pakachere and The Mixed.
• Saturday and Sunday afternoon will feature various family-centred programmes including a hike and live music. There will also be workshops, yoga and food experiences.
