Villy & the Extreme Volumes is a Ghana-based Afro-fusion group from Nigeria.
VILLY & The Xtreme Volumes are a Nigerian afro-fusion group, presently based in Ghana. The group incorporates a range of genres into their playing. The group's lead singer is Villy (real name Oliseh John Odili). Born 6 February 1984, he is a Nigerian afro-fusion/soul singer and songwriter. He sings in, Igbo, Yoruba, pidgin and English.
Villy is the son of a Delta state Nigerian father and Anambra state mother. He was born and raised in Lagos state, in the western region of Nigeria and went to lambo foundation primary School then attended Hopebay College and he pursued a career in singing, furthered his education in University of Benin where he studied Sociology and anthropology.
Villy started his career professionally as a young musician in Lagos moving from one production house to another, working with different artists just to express his talent and also touching lives with his vocals, he later formed a group called REQUEST with a close friend named Dramin, Their first demo then was produced by then dancehall sensation Marvelous Benji.
Both were admitted into the same university but for other reasons they merged with a prominent multi-talented musical group on campus called Supreme Cartel to become a 10 man hip-hop group. Villy gained major public attention when he auditioned and emerged as a contender in Star Quest 2007.
VILLY and his Group (The Xtreme Volumes) are regular performers at Felabration musical festival since, Sabolai Radio Music Festival, Asa Baako Music Festival, performed as Headliners for the 2012 world music day concert organized by Allianze Francize, Goethe institute and the British council, they embarked on a 2weeks promotional tour in Ghana November 2012 and in 2013.
Their debut LP ‘Let’s Play’ showcased their the blend of music. In 2016, they released the LP, 'Humanimals'.
