Call for applications: National School of the Arts music teacher in SA
The National School of the Arts (NSA) in South Africa seeks an experienced individual to assume the position of music teacher in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will start immediately and should possess a bachelor of music or any relevant REQV 13 qualification and PGCE as a minimum qualification.
The position requires knowledge of classroom music (Grade 8-12) and experience in teaching theory, harmony and history of music. The successful candidate will teach voice and conduct the choir. Arranging, specifically for choir, and compositional ability will be an advantage.
The successful candidate should be a good team player, willing to work outside of regular school hours, when necessary, and be an enthusiastic participant in the school’s cultural programme. Passion, patience, an ability to motivate and inspire, alongside a firm grip on discipline, will see the incumbent thriving in the specialist art school environment.
With a history that spans 50 years, the NSA is South Africa’s oldest public-funded school of specialisation in the performing and creative Arts. Situated in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, the NSA is a Gauteng Department of Education School.
