Chinese short-form video platform TikTok is seeking a content partnerships lead for its music division in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The music team in Africa is involved in the lifecycle of music and musicians on TikTok including the discovery and promotion of music trends, driving music campaigns, as well as onboarding and creating relationships with artists, record labels, and music distributors.
Job Description:
- Localised music vertical strategy.
- Local music content partnership development.
- Music partners performance optimisation.
- Music partner programme management.
- Team management.
- Develop a comprehensive localised strategy to drive creator development and growth pipeline for the music vertical, with a focus on professionally generated content/professionally user-generated content (top creators, publishers).
- Work with global vertical team in resource management, as well as the roll out of music content vertical strategies adapting local insights.
- Work with local head of ops to define unique content verticals to suit local market needs.
- Lead local content partnership teams to acquire, onboard, and foster strong relationships with music content partners.
- Track, analyse and drive to optimise the performance of local content partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Seven years of music industry experience.
- Experience in influencer marketing and media, familiar with local music culture and internet development trends.
- In-depth domain knowledge of the music content vertical.
- Existing relationships with a network of top music content creators, musicians, labels, and music content partners to lead toward partnership.
- Strong organisation skills to engage multiple teams in alignment and workflow.
