Call for applications: African Development Bank Cultural and Creative Industries consultant

The African Development Bank (AfDB) is looking for a junior consultant to coordinate its Cultural and Creative Industries initiatives ((CCIs) at the Gender, Women and Civil Society Department (AHGC) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
AfDB is a multilateral development finance institution whose mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent. The organization promotes the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of its member countries.
The qualified person will work for six months starting from 30 September 2019 with the possibility of renewal.
The application deadline is 25 August.

Eligibility
The ideal candidate should:
- Have a master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Business, International Relations, or a related field
- Be less than 32 years old
- Have at least two years and a maximum of five years of relevant work experience in international organizations, preferably prior experience with the AfDB, other multilateral institutions to promote women’s empowerment and gender equality with a focus on innovation and incubation
- Have experience and knowledge of cultural and creative industries
- Have satisfactory organizational and planning proficiency including previous
- Have strong writing and communication skills, preferably in both English and French
- Be self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and, demonstrated the ability to manage and perform multiple tasks efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a multicultural team
- Have the capacity to prioritize and manage a diverse range of partners, projects and activities
- Have the capacity to work under pressures of deadlines and in a multicultural setting
Responsibility
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Assist in the planning and execution of stakeholder engagement, consultation workshops and events
- Provide project management backstopping
- Support the identification of pilot innovative and technology-driven initiatives to enhance women’s economic empowerment and create jobs for youth in high-growth sectors, such as the cultural and creative industries
- Support internal and external awareness about the role of creative industries, develop networks and mobilize resources
- Undertake research on related donor initiatives and inclusive business activities by the private sector
- Prepare various written outputs, e.g. relevant project management related documents and reports, draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, issue debriefings, inputs to presentations, publications, press releases, blogs, etc.
- Provide support in data management and data analysis
- Execute any other tasks related to summit activities delegated by the task manager(s).

Remuneration
The successful candidate will receive a monthly salary. No additional benefits or per diems will be paid. The consultant is responsible for his or her health insurance and accommodation costs.
The Bank will cover full costs of any required missions and provide per-diem following rules governing consultant mission travel.
