Bio
Kwame Swerve (Kyei Baffour Maxwell) is a Ghanaian rapper raised in Tema, Ghana, which he identifies as the portside due to the cities well known busy port. Born June 8th 1996 at the Korle Bu teaching hospital, Kwame developed a keen interest for music at the tender age of 10 due to his fathers taste for good music which impacted him greatly, at a young age, he was introduced to mostly foreign musical content from the likes of Michael Jackson, 2pac, Biggie, JA Rule and other great hiphop rap and rnb artists but was also into local Ghanaian artists such as Lord Kenya, Kojo Antwi, Obrafuor and others. This helped push him to attempt making his music own and it also shaped his musical style and urged him to consider music as a career. As he made his first attempt to chase his dream of becoming a musical artist, he made his first song, “SWERVE” with Steez back in 2014 and hasn't looked back since. In 2018 Kwame released his debut mixtape Roadtopotsidevibes as an underground artist which was a compilation of different genres he experimented with these include Hiphop, Afrobeats, and Rap, The tape received positive reviews on various social media platforms and this urged him to release his first EP and second project, “Perspective” released on his birthday, June 8 , 2019 which was to celebrate his growth in music and a testament to his father’s input in his life. Kwame continues to take the necessary strides as an artist to improve and will do so until he feels achieved.
