Phy wins Maisha Superstar search

Kenyan contender Phy, real name Phyllis Mwihaki Ngetich, was declared winner of the recent Maisha Superstar search finals after a tough contest. Phy, who was mentored by Kenyan rapper Rabbit, impressed the fans and judges with her impressive performance and constant improvement. She won the ultimate prize of Ksh. 1.2 Million at the final ceremony on Monday, May 4.

The mentors, who are experienced musicians, were drawn from all over East Africa, their brief being to impart some music performance skills in the younger contenders and help them polish their act. They included Jose Chameleone, Nameless, Shaa, Rabbit and AY.

The finalists included Damian, Spirit, Phy and Filah, and they all performed on the closing day alongside their mentors. When Phy was announced winner her mentor, Rabbit, joined her on stage to celebrate what is no doubt an unforgettable day in her music career.
