Nontando Mokoena

Nontando Mokoena is an accomplished Project Manager with over 10 years’ experience in community development work. She has worked in the private sector, non-profit organizations, and the media sector - advocating for the inclusion of community media in government spending at grassroots level. She is highly skilled in project management and has a strategic mindset that drives results. 

She is deeply passionate about community development and education. In 2011, she voluntarily joined Timele Solutions, a non-governmental organization that advocates for education in rural communities by providing career guidance and mentorship. 

She graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Public Relations Management at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and a Higher Certificate in Project Management at the University of South Africa (UNISA). She completed aCertificate in Specialized Project Management at Wits University.

In August 2023, Nontando took up the position of Project Manager at the SAMPRADevelopment Fund, the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) arm of the South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA). Her main responsibilities include overseeing and recommending projects that are eligible for financial support through the Fund and managing the overall execution of the funded projects by providing necessary support to the beneficiaries and ensuring the success of all funded projects.
