Nigeria: Tune Chef launches publishing division
Nigerian label services company and music distributor Tune Chef has officially launched its music publishing division.
The company says Tune Chef Publishing (TCP) aims to provide artists and songwriters with a comprehensive suite of services, including copyright management, royalty collection and creative development. It will also work towards expanding the reach of Nigerian music by leveraging international networks and platforms to promote local talent.
“Our mission has always been to support and promote young budding African talent,” Tune Chef said. “With Tune Chef Publishing, we are taking a significant step towards ensuring our artists and songwriters receive the recognition and rewards they deserve. We believe that TCP will play a crucial role in shaping the future of music in Nigeria and beyond.”
Tune Chef says the launch of TCP comes at a time when the global music industry is increasingly recognising the value and influence of African music. Now boasting a publishing arm, Tune Chef can concentrate on helping local artists to navigate the complexities of the music business, it said.
In Nigeria, TCP will compete with companies like Plug Publishing, Sony Music Publishing Nigeria, Green Light Music Publishing and Groover.
Tune Chef, which was launched in 2022, offers a range of services that include distribution, marketing and artist management. It specialises in genres like Afrobeat, R&B, and soul.
The company, which works with emerging artists like Reeva Szn, Zepharr and Nuel Asii, says it has established strategic partnerships with leading digital service providers to solidify its reputation as a trusted distributor of high-quality music content.
