Verena Thissen

Verena Thissen is the primary Project Manager of the cultural education project “Future Lab Tunisia” (www.futurelabtunisia.tn), an initiative of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen´s “Zukunftslabor” and the Kamel Lazaar Foundation in Tunis, with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office.

She holds a Master in Latin American Area Studies from University of Cologne and Seville with expert knowledge in postcolonial theory and in the analysis of political, economic, linguistic and cultural characteristics of the Global South and North.

Over the past ten years, Verena Thissen has worked as a project manager for various cultural institutions within Germany and abroad, for example Teatro del Lago in Chile, Kampnagel in Hamburg and Goethe-Institut Buenos Aires. She was mainly in charge of the implementation of long-term international projects and the development of artistic and educational programs. With many years of professional experience abroad, she has a vast knowledge in Intercultural discipline.
