International Roots Festival

The International Roots Festival is an event held in The Gambia. It is designed to encourage people of African descent who reside in the diaspora to further discover, re-affirm and re-embrace their ancestral identity. The event is held twice in a year and attracts people all over the world with nights of local and international artists.

The festival brings together positive thinking amongst Africans who share the same common objectives, origins and heritage. Previous International Roots Festivals that have taken place in The Gambia have resulted in higher levels of communication and co-operation amongst Gambians and Africans throughout the Diaspora.
