Gambian Smiling Coast (GSC) is a Gambian music studio that was founded in 2005 by Malang Fatty, best known by his stage name Da Beat Chef. Chef is a Gambian producer and songwriter. His passion for recording music began in high school where he managed to get his first mobile studio which had a laptop and a music producing software.
In 2007, he moved to the U.K. where to pursue his career in music production and his first mix tape. In 2011, he produced his own rhythm producing many individual artists both from his home country and international level. Malang has skills in producing hip-hop, reggae, RnB, pop, Afro, reggae and dancehall music. In July 2011, he joined the Sunland music school created by producer Hakim Abdul Samad, a U.S. and Gambia based artist who produced Akon’s ‘Mamma Africa’ song.
Songs such as ‘Money Pot Rhythm’, ‘African Pride Rhythm’, and ‘Brain Food Rhythm’ were produced under this studio in 2013.
