Desmond and The Tutus

Popular Joburg-based indie-rock act drawing on local South African influences and known for their quirky lyrics, style and designs. Made up of singer Shane Durrant, his brother Craig on drums, Douglas Bower on guitar and Nic Dinnie on bass. After building up a loyal fanbase all over the country due to regular tours, the band released their debut album album, 'Tuckshop' in 2008 on the bands own label, Awesomeland Records. The single 'Kiss You On The Cheek' was picked up by French label Tigersushi and released internationally on 12” vinyl. In 2009 the band toured Europe before releasing the EP 'And The …'. They embarked on a two-week tour of Japan in 2010. Their second full-length album, 'MNUSIC', was released in 2012 (Sony BMG). It saw the group nominated for two South African Music Awards in 2013 – for Best Rock Album and Best Group.
