Bio

Real name Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe was born on March 3 1957 in Agarawu area of Lagos Island.

He started out his musical career at the age of 13, after the death of his father. He later cut his teeth as a member of Chief Doctor Sikiru Ayinde Barrister's band ,the Supreme Fuji Commanders from 1978 until 1984, when he branched out on his own. He was so heavily influenced by his mentor, that he performed under the name Wasiu Ayinde Barrister, later changing to "King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall" (Kwam), with the growth of his career and fan-base.

He is largely regarded as the biggest Fuji Music act in the world, (Fuji being a Nigerian music genre that combines traditional drums and Islamic styled chant, sung in Yoruba language) performing all over the world to massive audiences.

He has an incredibly long and formidable discography, with practically every recording guaranteed to be a hit to a fanatic, loyal global fan-base. His live performances are characterised by astonishingly long sets, often lasting 6 hours non-stop. He continues to perform at the same pace and to growing audiences, even as he approaches 60.
