Vector
Bio
Upon graduating from the University of Lagos, where he got a degree in Philosophy, he released his debut album State of Surprise' (2010), his delivery receiving both praise and criticism for sounding like American rapper Jay-Z. He addressed those sentiments on 'Kilode' featuring Emmsong (2010).
The single 'Angeli' (2011) featuring 9ice won the rapper the Lyricist on the Roll award at the 2012 Headies, ending rapper Mode 9's 6-year grip on the category. The win was considered confirmation of Vector's lyrical prowess. And both rappers would later feature on Vector’s V9 Cypha, off his sophomore ‘Second Coming’ (2012); and on Mode 9's Zoning Out (2013).
In 2015, Vector released the critically acclaimed single ‘King Kong’, followed by two remixes – featuring Phyno and Reminisce on the first; and Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie on the other.
