Ammara Brown

Ammara (born Ammara Nury Brown on 6 September 1988) is an Afro-pop artist and songwriter from Harare, Zimbabwe.
Brown is the daughter of the late veteran musician Andy. She was raised by her mother in the US and later returned to Zimbabwe. Brown began learning mbira and piano when she was nine years old. She made her first demo song at 13 prompting her to join his father's band, The Storm.
In 2008, she was among five Zimbabweans who featured in the top ten list of Idols East and Southern Africa. In 2010, Brown performed at the FIFA Soccer World Cup in South Africa alongside Flabba from Skwatta Kamp. She has shared the stage with Mi Casa, P-Square, Winky D and Tehn Diamond.
