Khetwayo
Bio
Born and raised in Lilongwe, Malawi, Khetwayo is a musician who grew up in a christian family. He began learning how to play a piano at the age of 10. Since then, he developed a passion for music. His desire to become a musician made him surround himself with musicians. His main influences were Lecrae, Tedashii and Trip Lee. After finishing high school, he went to college and founded a group called Kingdom Movement.
Shortly afterwards, he released his debut album titled ‘Character’ (2012) which included the single 'Chopanda Season' featuring Lawi and KBG.. The album has 17 tracks.
KMT used music and urban art forms as a tool for preaching the gospel in schools. In 2013, he released a mixtape. This was followed by the release of singles such as ‘Chopanda Season’ a song that talks of God’s unconditional love.
In January 2015, he became a co-founder of Essence Records. He is currently working on his second album, ‘Anditsogoza’, which is expected to drop in the second half of 2015. He has since released the upcoming album’s first single titled 'Mbusa Gudu'. The single is about how God reveals Himself as a good shepherd who is concerned with our lives.
