Air Namibia appoints The Dogg as ambassador
Namibian kwaito artist The Dogg has been appointed as the new brand ambassador for Air Namibia. The musician will represent and promote the national airline on various media platforms.
The Dogg will now play two ambassadorial roles. Last year he was appointed as ambassador for Smart Cut, a campaign that promotes voluntary male circumcision (VMC) in Namibia. He is also the former ambassador for Nampol/Interpol where his efforts focussed on reducing crime.
Air Namibia shared the news on its Facebook page. “Air Namibia has appointed Namibian superstar Martin Morocky, known as The Dogg, as the airline’s brand ambassador. Welcome on board,” the post reads.
The Dogg, who was recently nominated in the Best Male Southern Africa category for the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMAs), wrote on Facebook: “Thank @airnamibiaofficial, for more on flights please visit Air Namibia's website #flyairnamibiaonly.”
In another post, promoting the airline, the ‘Shimaliw' Osatana’ hitmaker wrote: “The legroom in business class is spacious. When flying, choose @airnamibiaofficial, very convenient reliable affordable and fast.”
Speaking to local media about his role as a brand ambassador, The Dogg said: “I join the Air Namibia team in working towards attaining the vision of the airline to be a safe, reliable and financially sustainable airline contributing towards the prosperity of the Namibia.
“As a local ambassador I would like to encourage, promote and increase the use of air travel among Namibians, industry peers and followers of my work, while increasing the visibility of the airline brand.”
Air Namibia’s manager of corporate communications, Paul Nakawa, said: “It gives me great pride to welcome The Dogg on board, a truly home-grown talent to share Air Namibia’s story with the world. This partnership is a reflection of Namibians working together towards a common goal."
