Nigeria: Listen to King Perryy’s new single On God

King Perryy describes the track as one celebrating growth. “It is me reflecting on my journey, how far I have come and how much further I will go with God by my side,” he said. “Regardless of our various pursuits, we can all relate to this song.”

In some ways, King Perryy’s new single is a statement of intent. “My blessings no be made in China, baba God don sign am” he sings over the tune’s smooth beat which provides the perfect backdrop for the artist to flex his variety of flows. He points to the motivation factor for his hustle, acknowledging God as his biggest support system, singing: “Dem ah wonder how man been grinding / I just dey dey number my blessings / That’s why I feel irie, I thank God for the journey / I thank God for air I breathe / I thank God for family.”

The new track follows last year’s ‘Turkey Nla’ remix featuring Tekno.

The singer first burst onto the scene in 2018 with his song ‘Man On Duty’ which has amassed more than 2.9 million plays on Spotify. In 2021, he released his debut album Citizen of the World, establishing a reputation as one to watch.

King Perryy was recently unveiled as the first top artist to benefit from a new partnership between digital art platform ARTSPLIT and music service companies M.A.D Solutions and ENGAGE to enable fans to invest in the success of their favourite musicians. The arrangement allows artists to sell splits of their songs’ royalties and artwork for their albums and EPs on the ARTSPLIT platform, offering them an alternative investment outlet. The initiative seeks to help musicians raise money and gain more control over their music, business decisions, and relationships with their fans.
