Multi-award-winning South African rapper Nasty C will perform and speak at the 2024 Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES) in Kigali, Rwanda, in November.
Nasty C, who boasts four impressive albums, joins top talents from across Africa lined up to perform at the ACCES 2024 Showcase Festival at Mundi Centre, Kigali, on 15 and 16 November.
Born Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo in Durban, Nasty C is one of the most influential figures in the African rap scene. He has earned recognition both locally and globally for his lyrical prowess, genre-bending sound, and groundbreaking contributions to the African hip hop landscape and music culture.
His musical journey began at a young age, honing his craft through self-taught productions and writing. In 2013, at just 16, Nasty C released his debut mixtape, One Kid a Thousand Coffins, which caught the attention of the South African hip hop community. His breakout came with the release of his second mixtape, Price City (2015), which included the hit single ‘Juice Back’. The track’s success propelled Nasty C into the national spotlight, leading to a remix featuring established artists Davido and Cassper Nyovest.
In 2020, Nasty C signed with the American record label Def Jam Recordings, a testament to his growing global influence. This partnership allowed him to expand his presence in the US and beyond. With a career that shows no signs of slowing down, Nasty C stands as a symbol of Africa’s potential in the global music industry, carrying the torch for future generations of African rappers and musicians.
Tickets to the Showcase Festival are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Reserve your seat here.
