Zim: Sylent Nqo drops new Afro-fusion single Loco
26 Jul 2026 - 15:09
Zimbabwean singer, songwriter and producer Sylent Nqo has released his latest single, ‘Loco’, through Bridgenorth Music label.
Sylent Nqo.
The track blends elements of kizomba and kompa with contemporary Afro-fusion, while exploring the intensity and unpredictability of romantic attraction. Its lyrics combine English, ChiShona and Swahili to tell the story of an overwhelming infatuation.
“It’s a love song that makes you feel crazy in the best way,” Sylent Nqo said. “That feeling when they make you lose your mind... but you love it. Sweet, chaotic, and impossible not to feel. It’s romantic, it’s playful, it’s ‘Loco’.”
The release follows the success of ‘Sewe’, which gained traction on regional radio and social media earlier this year. Nqo also recently received a gold plaque for his single ‘Huya’, adding to a run of recognition for his work.
Through his music, Nqo has sought to combine African languages and cultural influences with contemporary production and global pop structures. His latest release continues that approach, drawing on different regional musical traditions while maintaining a focus on Afro-fusion.
Nqo, who operates under Bridgenorth Music, is known for a genre-crossing style that incorporates African musical influences and contemporary sounds. He describes his work as an effort to create authentic African narratives for audiences in Zimbabwe and beyond.
