The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is proud of its partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a Strategic Implementing Partner (SIP) for its Social Employment Fund (SEF). Through this collaboration, MIAF is running a national programme that is creating jobs, addressing skills gaps, and strengthening South Africa's creative industries — in line with the SEF's overarching goal to generate work for the common good and build community value through employment, social contribution, and inclusive economic participation. Operating under the banner NEFCISA (National Employment Facility for Creative Industries in South Africa), the initiative is recruiting and training participants, matching them with host organisations, and has already placed 1 500 workers across the country — surpassing its original target of 1 000. NEFCISA is delivered through a network of 20 host organisations spanning five provinces, who are actively hosting participants and contributing to work for the common good across South Africa's creative and cultural industries. Key Objectives: Support employment and entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Offer skills development and training programmes. Foster partnerships between public and private creative sectors. For cultural and creative practitioners and organisations operating in southern Africa, access to funding remains a major challenge. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a massive impact on government policy, spending and the economy in general, and has seen spending on culture being moved further down the list of priorities. Further, the cultural and creative industries repeatedly cite four main areas where investment is needed for growth, which are increased visibility, mobility including access to new markets, finance and support structures.

House of BNG has been announced as the official beverage partner for Music Night at the fifth annual Basadi in Music Awards, which will take place at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg on 8 August.

Basadi Music In Awards CEO Hloni Modise said the partnership aligned with the values of both organisations.

The partnership comes as the awards mark their fifth anniversary under the theme REWIND and campaign Africa to the World. Organisers said the collaboration brings together two South African brands with a shared focus on recognising women's achievements in the music industry.

House of BNG, the luxury sparkling wine brand founded by media personality Bonang Matheba, will serve as the official beverage partner during the event, which celebrates women working across the African music sector.

Basadi in Music Awards founder and chief executive Hloni Modise Matau said the partnership aligned with the values of both organisations.

“As we celebrate five years of the Basadi in Music Awards, we are incredibly proud to welcome House of BNG as our Official Beverage Partner for Music Night. House of BNG has become one of South Africa's most celebrated luxury brands, representing excellence, ambition and the spirit of celebrating every milestone. Those values perfectly align with what Basadi stands for,” Matau said.

She added: “This partnership is about more than sharing a toast; it is about two proudly South African brands coming together to honour the phenomenal women who continue to shape the soundtrack of our lives. We are grateful to Bonang Matheba and the House of BNG team for believing in our vision as we continue to celebrate African excellence and take our stories from Africa to the world.”

House of BNG founder Bonang Matheba said the partnership reflects the brand's commitment to supporting women in the creative industries.

“I built House of BNG because I wanted South African women to have something of their own to raise. Basadi has spent five years making sure the women who shape this industry are named, celebrated and taken seriously, not just the ones on stage, but the managers, producers and creatives behind them. Being the brand in the room when those names are called is exactly where we should be.”

The Basadi in Music Awards recognises women working across different areas of the music industry, including artists, producers, managers and other creative professionals. Organisers said this year's Music Night will feature live performances, award presentations and tributes celebrating women's contributions to African music.
