Best of Both Concerts

Best of Both is a duo formed by classically trained pianists, Francois Botha and Yohan Chun. They play a variety of styles of music as well as different instruments. They have performed together at a number of venues and events including the Baxter Concert Hall’s Morning Melodies, Jazz at the Nassau, the Casa Labia Cultural Centre, Hazendal Wine Estate’s Jazz Club, Friends of Orchestral Music’s Fundraising Soiree and dozens of private events, functions and weddings.

In 2018, Yohan and Francois started their own concert series, also entitled, “Best of Both”, which is hosted at the NG Church in Pinelands. It programmes classical and jazz music alongside one another. Both members continue to pursue solo careers as pianists and have won prestigious competitions such as the FMR Classical Bursary Award, The Schock Chamber Prize and the Lionel Bowman competition and have performed with orchestras such as the Cape Town Philharmonic and the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.

Francois and Yohan have worked in the music industry for a number of years and play many different genres of music professionally: classical, jazz, pop, opera and everything in between.
