Ngonidzashe Kambarami

BIO

Ngonidzashe Kambarami, popularly known as Ngoni, is an urban groooves musician from Zimbabwe. He was born on 19 October 1983 in Mabvuku, Harare. He attended Donnybrook Primary, Mabvuku High schools and Foundation College in Old Tafara. He career as an artist kick started in 2002 with the release of a single called ‘Ndiwe Chete’. He became popular following the release of his songs such as ‘Bvuma’, ‘Wobvira’ and ‘Wabata Moyo Wangu’ just to mention a few.

He is one of the pioneers of urban grooves music. In that same year, he released his debut album ‘Ndinoimba’. This was followed by two more albums namely Angu mashoko’ (2004) and ‘Idenderedzwa’ (2007). In May 2014, he followed the flow of dancehall music with the release of two tracks ‘I Have Come A Long Way’, a a conscious track on the ‘Tax Money Riddim’ and ‘Ariko’.

In May 2015, he was one of the musicians who come together to produce a video ‘Prayer for Africa’. The video was inspired by the xenophobic attacks that took place in South Africa. The video featured musicians Goodchild, Cindy Munyavi, Russo, Xtra Large, Mudiwa Hood, Chenai, , Leonard Mapfumo, Nesto, Trey XL and Your Highness.
