Durban-based singer-songwriter Thando Nyameni has an extraordinary way of cutting straight through to the core of his listeners’ emotions. With a passion for song-writing running through his veins from an early age, his fervent lyrics and sparkling melodies expose a truly sensitive artist whose soul-shattering vocals have the power to provoke a profound response.
With a music style that fuses elements of Jazz, R&B, Reggae, Hip Hop, Soul and Gospel, the velvety-voice soul crooner traces his love for all things musical back to soulful sounds of artists such as Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Fred Hammond, Musiq Soulchild, Eric Roberson, Frank McComb, Boyz II Men and many more.
With a music career spanning two decades in front and behind the scenes, tn.za has to date shared a stage with many celebrated local and international artists. The most notable stages he has performed in include the Durban Jazz Festival, 2013 BRICS Summit. He was also handpicked by the late legendary Ray Phiri of Stimela Fame, to lead two songs from the legend’s music catalogue in a music festival that was held in his honour.
As a seasoned musician and entrepreneur, tn.za currently works as the General Manager of the KwaZulu-Natal United Music Industry (KUMISA), he is a Co-Director of Spotless Worx SA and he sits on a number of creative industry boards which include the MOSHITO Music Conference.
