Xhanti Nokwali is a South African recording artist and composer whose work is rooted in isiXhosa storytelling and African musical traditions. Since the release of his debut studio album Umthombo he has established a growing reputation both nationally and internationally as a custodian of cultural heritage through music.
He has performed at prestigious platforms such as Arts Alive Johannesburg at the Joburg Theatre, Fête de la Musique Johannesburg, the National Arts Festival, and the 22nd Sauti Za Busara festival in Zanzibar. Nokwali has shared stages with celebrated artists including Neo Muyanga, Zoe Modiga, Edgar Muzah, Msaki, Muzi,Dumza Maswana and Muneyi. These collaborations and appearances reflect his increasing impact in the African music scene.
His music explores themes of liberation, healing, and collective memory, engaging deeply with Africa’s spiritual and cultural wisdom. As a performer, Nokwali is known for his emotionally resonant and immersive presentations that leave lasting impressions on diverse audiences.
