BIO
Angelina Akawa, formerly known by her musical moniker Zingerwingz, is a Namibian multidisciplinary artist, director, performer, and cross-cultural storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of music, theatre, and live art. Beginning her creative journey as a poet before training in theatre and classical voice, Akawa has developed a distinctive artistic practice that blends African storytelling, contemporary performance, and musical expression. Whether performing as a classical soloist, collaborating with jazz musicians, or creating original theatrical works, she is driven by a commitment to stories that connect people across cultures. Her work has been presented across Africa and Europe, including tours in Angola, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Ghana, as well as performances and artistic collaborations in Germany. Through every project, Akawa explores identity, memory, faith, and community, using performance as a space for conversation, imagination, and human connection.
