Nasibo is a Zimbabwean multidisciplinary contemporary musician who is also a renowned Mbira player. She has built her brand and gained a significant following through her signature performances wherein she seamlessly blends her soulful vocals with the Mbira creating an enchanting and soul-stirring experience for her audiences.
Musically, Nasibo creatively infuses various vocal techniques such as Shona yodeling, Ndebele styles, scatting, and other styles from different African countries. This fusion creates a unique sound that is both soothing yet uplifting to the listener's soul.
Her extensive portfolio includes sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in African music including Youssou Ndou, Habib Koite, and Oliver Mutukudzi. She has also collaborated with many artists from Zimbabwe including Jah Prayzah, Edith WeUtonga and Music According to Percussion, where she served as a backing vocalist. The world has taken notice of Nasibo's exceptional talent which has also contributed to performances at the European Union-African Union 6th Presidential Summit, the Bozar in Brussels, Belgium, and the Maisha Music Experiment in Ethiopia, a cultural musical experiment arranged by the EU delegation to African Union.
Nasibo is also an USAID AWE alumni and UNESCO ResiliArt ZW Alumni .
In addition to being a seasoned Mbira player, Nasibo is also a songwriter who pours her soul into addressing the issues that plague society. Her music often touches on issues such as women and children's rights, Ubuntu, and other social issues. The essence of her music has a trance-like quality, which not only uplifts the spirits but also heals the soul. Her music transcends genre, language, and culture, and it is no wonder that she has made a name for herself as one of the most gifted musicians of our time.
Currently, Nasibo is working on her new album titled 'ZARUWE', which promises to be yet another masterpiece showcasing her immense talent unique style. She remains a socially conscious artist who uses her music to address important issues in society while preserving the traditional African music and culture.
