Accra to host Phreak Out festival

Acoording to a statement from organisers Beat Phreaks, the event is a "common-ground for open-minded music fans to discover new artistes or genres of music". As such Phreak Out Live provides a platform for artists who are changing perceptions and revolutionizing the scene with their art.

Wanlov, Azizaa and Sena Dagadu are some of the artists who have been hosted by the festival. Younger artists to take part in the festival include Worlasi, Poetra, Quayba, King Promise, and Akan. The festival consists of two sections, the man concert and the electronic rave.

The Main Concert

This will be hosted at Alliance Francaise from 8pm - 10:30pm and showcases live performers such as Ria Boss, a sultry neo-soul artist, A.I, Kwesi Arthur, Villy, Big Ben, Eli, and Yung Pabi.

The Electronic Rave

This will be hosted at Serallio and will feature acts like Jowaa, an African electronic rave music act, alongside some of the best Electronic DJs on the scene such as KEYZUZ, Radical The Kid, DeeJ Mitchy and DJ Eff. Prepare for a heavy dose of bass across a range of genres from Future Bass, Dubstep, Drum n Bass to House Music from 11pm till late. The rave will also give festival-goers the opportunity to meet with and interact with artists from the concert.

According to the organisers, "Phreak Out Live has definitely built a reputation as the the go-to platform for talent to look out for and has provided a critical platform to shine the spotlight on new acts, celebrate existing talent and build an exciting and eclectic atmosphere for appreciation of good alternative music. Leave your inhibitions at home and come ready to experience exceptional music!"

Phreak Out Live takes place on Friday 11th August 2017 at Alliance Francaise, Accra @8pm. Gate: 30 GHS ($7) for the main concert; 20 GHS ($5) for the electronic rave.
