Black Coffee is looking for young DJ to take to Ibiza

South Africa’s DJ Black Coffee is giving young DJs an opportunity to perform with him at an upcoming all-African event in Ibiza this September. The award-winning producer will take up a residency on the Spanish island from June until September and will be giving a lucky DJ an opportunity to impress on the world stage.
Black Coffee’s wingman, or wing-lady, will be chosen from a talent search competition, which will run over the next few months. Aspiring DJs are advised to submit a demo track on the competition sponsor’s official website and share “how they have found their magic”.
Black Coffee will pick five contestants who will compete at a send-off party in August, with the winner scoring an Ibiza slot together with other African winners. To enter, contestants have been asked to upload a 10-minute house mix.
Speaking at a press conference this week, Black Coffee, who is an ambassador of the talent search’s sponsor AXE, said his intention was to inspire and help young people.
“Of all the endorsements I’ve had over the years, it’s the message ‘find your magic’ that makes this one different,” he said. “I always try to inspire people, whether it’s with my work or even the kind of content I post on social media. I always try to stay on the positive things.
“To have a brand this big (AXE) communicating the same thing helps me communicate that message even further. My magic is music and I was very fortunate to know that from an early age. I have worked really hard to enhance my talent and be better at it.
“My goal is to help other people find theirs. In the meantime, aspiring DJs are urged to submit a demo track on axecess.com and share ‘how they have found their magic’.”
