Call for applications: 2019 All Africa Music Awards

In partnership with the African Union (AU), the AFRIMAs recognise and reward the work and talent of African artists, old and contemporary alike.

Through its conference, the AFRIMAs also stimulate conversations among Africans and between Africa and the rest of the world about the potential of the creative arts for real humanising enterprise on the continent, contributing significantly to social cohesion, national, regional and continental integration as well as sustainable development in Africa.

Entries of songs and videos will be accepted for works released between 1 August 2018 and 2 August 2019.

The application deadline is 2 August.

The AFRIMA jury will then screen the entries and select the nominees who will be announced on 13 August. The public voting process will open on 19 August and close 24 hours before the main awards ceremony, which will be aired in more than 80 countries around the world.

The AFRIMA jury consists of representatives from five regions of Africa, the diaspora and the AU Commission.

Last year, the awards received more than 8 000 submissions.
