Call for applications: Arts project funding in SA
The National Arts Council (NAC) of South Africa is calling on individual artists and registered arts organisations to apply for arts project funding.
The council will accept applications from arts projects in the following programmes:
- Exhibitions and festivals.
- Social cohesion and nation-building.
- Innovation, design and creation of new work.
- Capacity building and strategic initiatives.
Arts organisations and individuals supporting the involvement of women, youth and people living with disabilities, particularly in historically disadvantaged areas, are also encouraged to apply.
Projects proposed should be of national significance considering the NAC’s strategic imperatives of creation of new works, arts development, arts promotion, job creation, capacity building in arts entrepreneurship and facilitation of access to the arts.
The minimum allocation for applications is R100 000 ($6 600). The maximum amount applied for should not be in excess of R500 000. The allocation will be in line with redress and the transformation imperatives of the NAC.
