Call for applications: National School of the Arts Afrikaans, Life Orientation teacher

Situated in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, the National School of the Arts falls under a select group of schools known as the Schools of Specialisation. The NSA’s area of specialisation is in performing and creative arts. Learners audition to secure a place in one of the four specialist departments, either art, dance, drama or music.

Requirements

Interested applicants must:

• Have a requisite degree or diploma in the field.
• Have a professional teaching qualification (PGCE) and registered with the South African Council for Educators.
• Be able to adapt teaching methods to apply differentiated learning and be computer literate.
• Have a previous teaching experience and a genuine interest in the arts will be an advantage.

The vacancy is a full-time school governing body position and the successful candidate should be an enthusiastic, caring and resourceful team player. Passion, patience, and an ability to motivate, inspire and discipline will see the incumbent thriving in the specialist art school environment.

The successful candidate will resume work on 1 September and earn a gross monthly salary of R25 000. Incremental adjustments are to be determined by the experience and qualifications of the preferred candidate.
