Call for entries: 2021 Star FM Listeners’ Choice Awards in Zim
04 Feb 2021 - 15:12
The organisers of the Star FM Listeners’ Choice Awards in Zimbabwe are calling on local artists to submit entries ahead of this year’s virtual awards ceremony on 13 March.
The event, which is in its third edition, will run under the hashtag #RespectTheHustle. Unlike previous years, the winners will be decided through public voting on social media.
Start FM’s Tony Moyo told Music In Africa that the event, previously known as the Star FM Awards, was rebranded to give ”listeners the power to decide.”
Guidelines
- Interested artists should register via the Star FM official website before submitting their music.
- Albums, singles and recordings eligible for entry must have been released between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2020.
- Singles submitted for entry from albums that were manufactured prior to 1 January 2020, but only commercially released during the entry period, will qualify for entry on condition that a written proof of release is submitted together with a fully completed entry form.
- An album is defined as a commercially available compact disc containing a minimum of seven different and previously unreleased sound recordings by the artist or group in question (in other words, no re-released albums or best-of albums), and not less than 30 minutes of a previously unreleased recorded performance.
- Multi-artist compilations or previously released recordings may not be submitted for entry unless the category rule states otherwise.
Read more submission rules and guidelines here.
The submission deadline is 18 February.
