Call for registration: Music marketing, DJ workshops in Tanzania

Nafasi Art Space in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Tanzania will be conducting two workshops in Dar es Salaam on 29 June 2019.
The workshops, which will be on music marketing and DJ skills for women, will run concurrently from 10am to 3pm at Nafasi Art Space.
The workshops will be conducted by Wallizz and DJ Nomi from the Berlin-based Freak de L'Afrique. The duo focuses on modern African club sounds such as Afrobeats, Afro-house, coupé décalé and kuduro.
The music marketing workshop will aim to provide useful tips that musicians can use to improve and enhance their digital footprint.
The training will touch on:
- Essential promotion tools and platforms.
- How to monetise your music online.
DJ workshop will cover the following topics:
- DJ equipment.
- DJ techniques.
- Working with sounds.
- Selecting music.
- Mashing up music and genres.
"We are looking to offer space for women to learn, play, experiment and exchange about music, passion, technology, software and skills, which is a conversation that hardly happens," Nafasi Art Space performing arts manager Kwame Mchauru said.
The application deadline is 28 June and no participation fee will be charged. Lunch will be provided.
The workshops will be followed by performances from Naitwasalma, Seghito and The Unit Band, Dbass Ganun and UBT Mchiriku Band.
