Call for submissions: Vans Musicians Wanted contest
US fashion brand Vans is calling on all emerging artists from South Africa, Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions to submit demos for its Musicians Wanted competition, for a chance to share the stage with the Billboard-charting British musician Yungblud.
Artists in any genre are eligible to enter. Launched in 2020, the contest seeks to unearth emerging artists and help them to gain exposure globally.
The winner will get a chance to perform with the rock musician as an opening act in 2022. Additional prizes include Vans products, Kramer gear, a premium TuneCore prize pack, global music distribution, opportunities for playlisting on Spotify and Apple Music and more.
The selection process will comprise a panel of judges including rapper, writer and comic book artist Denzel Curry who is featured in the brand’s latest brand campaign, Grammy-nominated pop singer and songwriter Julia Michaels, creative visionary and founder of 88rising Sean Miyashiro, and Yungblud. They will select the top five finalists from each region to perform at the Vans Musicians Wanted virtual concert series, to be held on 15 September, from which the grand prize winners will be chosen.
