Fleur Du Cap Theatre Awards announce 2025 special award recipients

The panel of judges for the 60th Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards has announced the recipients of the 2025 special awards ahead of the highly anticipated ceremony at Cape Town Stadium, in South Africa, on 23 March.
The awards are designed to celebrate outstanding contributions to local theatre across 23 categories. They range from performing to directing, scriptwriting, composing and puppetry, as well as exceptional stage, sound, lighting and costume design.
This year’s judging panel includes Africa Melane (chair), Dr. Beverley Brommert, Hadley Tituss, Dr Lwando Scott, Naudé van der Merwe, Nkgopoleng Moloi, Roxy Marosa, Sive Gubangxa, Thabo Makgolo, Tracey Saunders and Dr. Wayne Muller.
“South Africa is endowed with an abundance of talent, and what a pleasure it is to celebrate and honour these outstanding individuals and entities who have enriched Cape Town and South Africa with their exceptional gifts,” chair of the judging panel Africa Melane said. “The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards have once again allowed us the opportunity to celebrate those who work to archive the past, celebrate the present and nurture the talent of the future.”
