Kenya’s hip-hop musician Muthoni the Drummer Queen, better known as Muthoni DQ, will be performing at the 40th edition of the upcoming Paléo Festival in Nyon, Switzerland alongside a host of international artists. The festival will run from July 20 to July 26, and Muthoni is scheduled to perform on the closing evening alongside DJ and producer David Guetta.
The Paléo Festival is Switzerland’s largest outdoor music event that attracts over 200, 000 attendees, and is usually sold out. It showcases a wide variety of genres, including reggae, world music, rock, French chanson, hip-hop, classical music and street theatre.
A host of stars are scheduled to perform, including Johnny Halliday, Calogero, Faithless, Veronique Sanson, Charlie Winston, Ettienne Daho, Ben Harper, Robbie Williams, kings of Leon, Sting, Robert Plant, Patti Smith, Joan Baez, and Christine & The Queens. Accompanying Muthoni from Africa will be Sianna from Mali, Nneka from Nigeria and Faada Freddy of Senegal.
