Keyboard legend Black Moses survives shooting

This after the Soul Brothers man, known as ‘Black Moses’, was hijacked and shot at his new house in Rosettenville, south of Joburg, last week.

The three robbers shot at him twice and managed to drive away in his black Audi A4. The thugs also stole a computer worth R15 000, an iPad worth R17 000 and two cellphones worth R10 000.

Incredibly, the mbaqanga star was shot in Lang Street, the same street where the late reggae legend Lucky Dube was gunned down in 2007, also in a hijacking.

Speaking to Sunday Sun, Ngwenya said: “I’m still shocked by the whole thing, especially that I almost died close to where my friend Lucky Dube was killed. I was shot in my right hand. Luckily I survived. God is great, he protected me from the hijackers. Most of the time people don’t survive such incidents.”

Moses said his fans should not worry too much as he intends to be back in action in a few weeks’ time.

Constable Rebecca Bila of the Moffat View police station said a case of car hijacking was opened last Friday.
