Beninese music legend and activist Angélique Kidjo has released a single titled ‘Sunlight to My Soul’ featuring the South African choral group Soweto Gospel Choir.
The song, written by American songwriter Diane Warren and produced by Nigerian Afrobeats producer Shizzi, is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms. Released via Parlophone France and Warner Music, ‘Sunlight to My Soul’ further solidifies Kidjo’s status as a musical icon.
With an impressive discography of 16 albums, Kidjo is widely regarded as one of the leading artists in international music. Her numerous accolades include being named one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2021. The BBC has also honoured her as one of Africa’s 50 most iconic figures, while The Guardian included her in the Top 100 Most Inspiring Women in the World list.
Additionally, she was awarded the prestigious Polar Music Prize in 2023. Kidjo’s enduring legacy and creative impact continue to inspire and influence audiences worldwide.
