SA: Jazz and Classical Encounters 2019 offering discounted tickets

Tickets to the one-day event, which takes place on November 23, will be discounted by R40 from the full price of R380.

“This festival blending jazz and classical music is an idea whose time has come," Pegs Music Project co-producer Aymeric Peguillan said. "Works to be played include compositions by the musicians themselves.”

The concert will kick off with a performance by the Kyle Shepherd Trio, followed by classical composers and performers Reza Khota, Brydon Bolton, Matthijs van Dijk and Cara Stacey of the Night Light Collective.

Next up will be 2019 Standard Bank Young Artist for Jazz Mandla Mlangeni and his Tune Recreation Committee, and violinist Jan-Hendrik Harley’s ensemble, Je Ne Comprends Pas. The closing performance of the show will be by trumpeter Mandisi Dyantyis.
