SA: Judith Sephuma to record new gospel project live at Emperors Palace

The performance, titled Judith Sephuma A Worship Experience, will take place at the Theatre of Marcellus and will mark Sephuma’s return to gospel music nine years after the release of her 2017 album My Worship.

The live recording will combine new material with selected songs from Sephuma’s repertoire, with the audience forming part of the recording. Their vocals and responses will be captured alongside the performance to reflect the atmosphere of the event.

Sephuma said the project reflects her personal faith and experiences since My Worship.

“Worship, for me, is more than a song, it is a lifestyle and a daily surrender to God. Through every season, God’s grace has carried me, turning my pain into purpose and my tears into testimony.”

She added: “Being a child of God means walking in the assurance of His love, and my life is simply a vessel for His glory. Nine years later, we are ready to deliver A Worship Experience.”

The recording will feature Sephuma alongside her musicians and is intended to document the new gospel material in a live setting rather than through a conventional studio recording.

The project follows years of requests from fans for Sephuma to return to gospel music. Her 2017 album My Worship marked an earlier chapter in her work in the genre.

The 27 November performance will also draw on Sephuma’s established repertoire, combining new gospel songs with selected favourites.
